Jerry D. Elliott, 62, Hampton, went home to be with his Lord, unexpectedly, on Monday, June 28, 2010, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.

He was a native and life long resident of Carter County and the son of the late Roy and Georgia Perry Elliott.

Mr. Elliott was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. He was a retired self employed vinyl siding contractor. He graduated from Elizabethton High School in 1965 and was a graduate of Steed College. He attended Hampton Christian Church and was a member of the Hampton Masonic Lodge #750 F&AM. He was a wonderful and loving husband and father who loved his wife, children and grandchildren very much.

Mr. Elliott is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Judy Ballard Elliott, of the home, a daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Carlos Bradford, Hampton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Beckie Elliott, Johnson City; Keith and Jenna Elliott, Hampton; three grandchildren, Madilyn and Sarah Elliott, both of Hampton; Brooke Elliott, Johnson City; one brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Arlene Elliott, Hampton; one nephew and two nieces; mother-in-law, Dora Ballard, Elizabethton; one special veteran buddy Jerry Ruhl, Mountain Gilead, OH; and his special dog Cubby also survives.

The funeral service for Mr. Elliott will be conducted on Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at 7:00 PM in the Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, Elizabethton with Mr. Dewayne Calhoun, Minister officiating. Music will be under the direction of his son Mr. Keith Elliott. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Tuesday prior to the service. Friends may also call at the residence anytime.

The graveside service and interment will be conducted on Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at 11:00 AM at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home, TN. Military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post #49. Active pallbearers will be selected from friends and neighbors. Those wishing to attend are invited to meet the family at the funeral home at 10:00 AM Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery.

Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the youth at Hampton Christian Church, 810 Deerfield Lane, Hampton, TN 37658.
