Mr. William C. Musick (Chubby), age 84 of Clovis, retired dental technician, died Thursday, November 4, 2010, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, NM.
He was born on June 21, 1926, in Hobart, OK to John Jackson Musick and Carrie Ada Clark Musick.
When Chubby was a child, his family moved to the Clovis area where he grew up and graduated from Clovis High School in 1945. He joined the U.S. Navy, in which he was stationed in The Pacific Theater in the Philippines for four years. On February 25, 1951, Chubby was married to Naomia Jean Justus who proceeded him in death on June 19, 2002. In 1960, they relocated to Grants, NM where they lived and raised their family. In 1984, Chubby's career as a Dental Technician, brought him back to the Clovis area where he lived until his death.
Chubby will always be remembered by family and friends for his sense of humor and his love of a good meal! In the early 1970's, Chubby was a coach for his son's little league baseball team. He continued to coach for seven years, of which during that time in 1972, his team that he co-coached, won the state championship.
He is survived by his current wife Frances Hale Priebe Musick, his son Kevin Gerald Musick and his wife Theresa Musick, three grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday at 21st Street Church of Christ in Clovis, NM. Waymon L. Dowdy, Sr will officiate. Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
Pallbearers will be Brian Crowder, Ronnie Williams, Justin Musick, Mike Justus, Carlton Essex, Jody Wallace, Danny Justus, and Bryan Justus.
Honorary Pallbearers are Garland Justus, C. H. Justus, Cecil Bunch, Bill Aucutt, Jimmy Gilliland, Bob Hester, Travis Cantrell, and Bob Hart.
