Funeral services for Mrs. Rozell (Threet) Abston, 82, of the Cravenstown community of Overton County, were conducted at 1 p m on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 from her home, with Rev. Arnold Murphy officiating.

Burial was in the Honey Springs Cemetery.

Mrs. Abston died Saturday, December 27, 2008 at the Jamestown Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker and attended God's House of Worship.

Born Jun 19, 1926 in Wilder, she was the daughter of the late William Blackhead and Virgie Mae Winningham Threet. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Abston on October 31, 2001, 2 daughters, Patsy Sells and Kathy Abston; 2 sons, David Abston and Victory Ray Abston; a sister, Neal Threet, and 2 brothers, Marion Threet and Larry Doyle Threet.

Survivors include 4 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Linda and Mickey Smith of Twinton, Tn; Brenda Vaughn, Marilyn Lane, and Lisa and Dallas Cravens, all of Cravenstown; 6 sons and 5 daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Peggy Abston of Twinton; Elmer and Faye Abston of Allons; Michael and Joann Abston of Hilham; Adam and Ginger Abston of Livingston; Joe and Tammy Abston of Crawford; and Gary Abston of Cravenstown; 2 sisters, Frankie Murphy and Patricia Murphy both of Cravenstown; 26 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren.
