Matthew Nooning
Funeral services for Matthew Ernest Nooning, 63, of Kansas City, formerly of Baring, will be held Saturday afternoon (Sept. 1, 1978) at 3:30 in the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Baring. The Rev. Bill Forest of Memphis, will conduct the services. Burial will be in the St. Aloysius cemetery at Baring.
The body is at Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, where rosary will be said this evening at 7:30.
Mr. Nooning died Wednesday afternoon (Aug. 30, 1978) at 4:05 in the Lakeside Hospital in Kansas City where he had been a patient only one day.
Born May 15, 1915 in Knox County he was the son of John Patrick and Anna Eagen Nooning. On May 25, 1941 he married Frances M. Hayden, who preceded him in death on Aug. 10, 1963. On Nov. 28, 1966 he married Mildred I. Riembold who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Maria Elena) Havemann of Pocatello, Idaho, Mrs. Francis (Trisha Ann) Carroll of Osco, Ill. and Roetta Rae Pollock of Wilmington, Ill; one step-son, William A. White who is stationed with the United States Marines at Jacksonville, N.C.; ten grandchildren; three step-daughters, Mary Millis of Jackson, N.C., Mrs. Paul (Patricia) Simmons of Scott Air Force Base, Ill. and Mrs. Tom (Barbara) Riggs of Cincinnati, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Nooning had been a resident of Kansas City the past 12 years. He had been employed with construction before his illness.
Bearers will be: Dale Slocum, Bob Moore, Francis Moore, Gale Barker and Dale Eagon.
