Lue Anna was a courageous pioneer woman in the almost new state of Oklahoma. She and her husband, George, moved to Ok in 1913. Her husband died within 3 years, leaving her with their 8 children and 2 step-children to raise. They lived on a farm in Comanche Co. until 1925 when Lue Anna moved her family to Oklahoma City after her 3 daughters had already moved there and gone to work. She must have possessed a great deal of strength and fortitude to raise her family to adulthood. She was proud of her family as she watched them grow into strong men and women and become successful members of their communities.
Lue Anna states in her Confederate Widow's Pension Application that she was born 3 Mar 1872. Her Hasty family moved from Itawamba Co. MS to Johnson Co. Texas where she met and married George W. Reagan. They soon moved on to Hill, Haskell, Knox and Clay counties in Texas before moving into Comanche Co. Ok. She was a beautiful lady, and many of us in the Reagan family are sorry that we never had a chance to know her.
