The Chico Enterprise, Chico, CA, Saturday Evening, February 26, 1927: Funeral Is Held For Mrs. Bisset. Funeral services for Mrs. Edith Bissett, 27, who died at the Enloe hospital Wednesday of this week were held this afternoon at 2:30 in the First Christian church, the Rev. W. L. Mellinger, pastor, and Rev. Thomas J. Carter of the Broadway Methodist church, officiating.
The services, which were extremely impressive, were attended by sympathizing friends who packed the church to overflowing, and the great masses of floral tributes seemed more than ordinarily appropriate and symbolic of the lovable character of the departed one.
The Pythian Sisters and the Native Daughters of the Golden West, of which Mrs. Bissett was a member, attended the services in a body.
The procession which followed the hearse to the Masonic plot in the Chico cemetery where Mrs. Bissett was laid to eternal rest, was one of the most extensive seen here in many months.
The pallbearers, active and honorary, included the following: Mr. and Mrs. Prtiness Broyles, Mr. and Mrs. John Yank, Mr. and Mrs. Harry N. Parker, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Woods, Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Bullock, Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Bohling, Mr. and Mrs. David Hackett, Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Boysol [?] Mr. and Mrs. Lon Mitchell, Mr. and Mrs. George Rummell, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Deter, Mr. and Mrs. Dewitt Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Ferguson, Mr. and Mrs. A.E.
