"Peggy" was first married to James Edward Yates, Jr., and then to Arthur Voskian (she and Arthur had no children together.)

As a young adult she was a fashion model for Lord & Taylor in New York. She also helped with the Red Cross war effort during World War II, and was a long time member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Swainsboro, Georgia.
