William Harvey Bristol, 81, of Leadwood passed away December 27, 2007, at St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Louis. He was born January 10, 1926, at Williford, Ark.
He served in the US Army during the Korean War with Company G, 8th Calvary Regiment, 1st Calvary Division. He received a Combat Infantry Badge, Purple Heart with one Oak Leaf Cluster, the Korea Service Medal and two Bronze Stars.
He was preceded in death by: Parents, William and Nora (Byers) Bristol Sr. and step-father Chester Jones; brother, john Bristol; sisters, Ann Oliver, and Lois Bristol in infancy; two granddaughters; wife, Helen Barnes Bristol; and step-son, Gary Barnes.
He is survived by: Wife, Louease Bristol of Leadwood; sons, William and wife Mary Bristol of St. Ann, Mo., Kenny and wife Deborah Bristol of Troy, Mo., and Jessie and wife Barb Bristol of St. Ann, Mo.; daughter, Donna and husband Sam Akers of Overland, Mo.; step-sons, Martin and wife Jan Stevens of Wichita, Kan., Paul and Geri Stevens of Oklahoma City, Okla., Rick Stevens of Leadwood, Sonny and wife Marilyn Barnes of Farmington, and Clifford Barnes; step-daughters, Pam and husband Richard Middleton of Leadwood and Bonnie Whitaker of Farmington; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5 p.m., Friday, with VFW service at 7 p.m., at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral home in Desloge. Services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, at C.Z. Boyer & Son Chapel in Desloge with Rev, Davey Welker officiating. Interment with full Military Honors at St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre.
