COOKEVILLE Funeral services for Nettie Myrtle Billingsley, 88, of Cookeville, will be held at 1 p.m. Sat., June 16, at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper & Huddleston Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight, Friday, June 15, from 5-9 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Billingsley died Wed., June 13, at her home.
She was born Oct. 14, 1912, in Smith County to the late Ira B. and Edna Foutch Cowan. She was a member of McBroom's Chapel Church of Christ and was retired from Roberson's Inc.
Her family includes her husband of 66 years, Arkley C. Billingsley, whom she married Dec. 6, 1934; two daughters and sonsinlaw, Linda and James L. Clouse and Diane and James C. Nabors, all of Cookeville; a sister, Estelle Ragland of Cookeville; five brothers, Odell Cowan of Nashville, Howard Cowan of Redford Township, Mich., and Everette, Carson and Ira B. Cowan, all of Cookeville; three grandchildren, Kim and husband Jerome Cummings, both of Auburndale, Fla., Tim and wife Karen Clouse and Jill and husband Cary Ryan, all of Cookeville; and two great grandchildren, Stephanie and Brandon Cummings, of
Auburndale, Fla.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Kirby, and four brothers, Cooper, Frank, Thomas and Bill Cowan.
