Sergent Owen E. Cecil, 29, of 4300 Irvington, was killed in a plane crash December 6 near Campbellsburg, Ky. He had been an employee of Houston Lighting and Power Company. Besides his wife, he is survived by his father Burt V. Cecil; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Mae Lindsey, Mrs. Kathryn Arnold and Mrs. Lura Beeler. Sergeant Cecil was crew chief of 111th Observation Squadron, Texas National Guard. The body arrived in Houston at 7:30 a.m. Saturday. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Fogle-West chapel, with Rev. G.Z. Sadler of the First Methodist Church at Richmond in charge. Burial in Hollywood Cemetery. Active pallbearers, non-commissioned officers of the 111th Observation Squadron: G.D. Kennard, L.L. Smith, T.R. Galloway, J.J. McMath, W.H. McMath and H.E. Hubbard. Honorary pallbearers, the other non-commissioned officers of the squadron. Fogle-West Company directing.

CHANUTE FIELD, RANTOUL, Ill (U.P.)---An army plane, missing since it took off from this government air field at 6:45 p. m. yesterday has crashed near Campbellsburg, Ky., and the two occupants are dead, officials announced today.

The dead:
Second Lieut. Gordon V. Kilmer, Flint, Mich., the pilot and Staff Sgt. Owen E. Cecil of the Texas national guard.

The plane was reported missing when it failed to return after 3 a. m. at which time its gasoline supply should have been exhausted. It was described as a low-winged single-engined Monoplane.

CHANUTE FIELD, Rantoul, Ill., Dec. 7.---An army plane, missing since it took off from the government air field at 6:45 p. m. yesterday has crashed near Campbellsburg, Ky., and two occupants are dead, officials announced today.

The dead were Second Lieutenant Gordon V. Kilmer, Flint, Mich., the pilot, and Staff Sergeant Owen E. Cecil of the Texas national guard.
