MYRAH BANCROFT succumbed to pulmonary failure on November 7 at the home of a son, in McDonough, GA. Born on July 31, 1923 in Houston, Tx to Bibb Demar and Blanche Wise Haltom she, in many ways, fulfilled our Lord's expectations of a strong and willing Christian servant. She was a faithful daughter who brought her mother into her home after her father's early death and cared for her for over forty years.Married to John Sidney Bancroft in 1945 in a double wedding ceremony with her brother Hollis Haltom and Eleanor Runcie, she was a faithful wife who, for years of hunting seasons, plucked ducks to help her husband Jack grow a new business. She nursed Jack as well for the last six years of his life.She was faithful as a mother to her four sons, Stephen, John, Gary, and Gregory; and faithful to a deceased good friend in bringing a Godson, Barney Goodwin, into her home. Myrah was an Area Manager at Joskes of Houston for twelve years. She is survived by her four sons, and 11 grandchildren with a long awaited great grandchild due in February.The memorial service will be held Friday, Nov 12 at 2 PM at Christ Episcopal Church, Nacogdoches, Texas . The interment will be at Forest Park (Lawndale) Cemetery in Houston , 10 AM Sat. Nov13.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to: The Daughters of the King, at Christ Episcopal Church, 502 E. Starr Ave.,Nacogdoches, TX 75961
