"Nat" Hoag was the son of Jonathan S. Hoag and Eliza Akin of Pittstown, NY. Nat married Minnie Frances Durfee (1865-1945) and had one child, Gladys Durfee Hoag, born 1893. Gladys married Charles Whiteside, born 1893.

"Shandanette Hoag was born in Pittstown, N.Y., August 14, 1865. He was a son of Jonathan Hoag. He was educated in common schools, Fort Edward Institute, Albany Normal and Troy Business College. He was at home until 1894, when he engaged in the mercantile business at Tomhannock. October 22, 1889, he married Minnie F. Durfee of Cambridge, Washington county, N. Y., by whom he has one child, Gladys, born October 14, 1892. Mr. Hoag is a member of Victor Lodge No. 680 F.&A.M. Mr. Hoag has been excise commissioner of the town."
