Charlie "Jack" Justice, 68, of Solana Road, died at home Friday (Sept. 24, 1993). A graveside service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at the Carlsbad Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Weckel of Hillcrest Baptist Church officiating. The Elks Lodge No. 1558 also plans to hold a graveside service.

Justice was born Feb. 16, 1925, in Banks, Ala., where he was raised and educated. He was a veteran of World War II, having served as a Flight Officer from December 1944 to March 1946. He married Peggy Kennedy May 25, 1946, in Carlsbad.

Justice worked as a driller with the Pennsylvania Drilling Company from 1947 to 1961 and then as a letter carrier for the U.S. Post Office until his retirement in 1980. He was a member of the Elks Lodge No. 1558 in Carlsbad and the Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Justice, of Carlsbad; one son, Rick Justice of Carlsbad; two daughters, Kathy Elmore of Carlsbad and Lynne Murray of Chicago, Ill.; one brother, Albert Justice of Brundidge, Ala.; six sisters, Fleta Justice, Jewel Justice, Irene Trawick and Mildred Reynolds, all of Montgomery, Ala., Lela McLendon of Troy, Ala., and Mary Schutt of Medford, N.Y.; and one granddaughter, Shelley Justice of Carlsbad.
