Mr. and Mrs. John E. Criss of Wadestown announces the marriage of their daughter, Wilma, to Private. Albert Teed Whittaker formerly of Wadestown, now serving in Uncle Sam's armed forces for the past fourteen months, and is now stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri.
The marriage was performed Saturday evening, March 6th, at the home of Rev. Theodore Rice at Waynesburg, Pa. The bride and bridegroom spent several days in Charleston, WV with friends and relatives.

Wilma M. Whittaker, 88, of Daybrook, died Saturday, February 14, 2009 at her residence.

She was born April 4, 1920 at Wadestown, WV a daughter of the late John E. and Rosetta M. Wright Criss.

Survived by 2 daughters and son, and grandchildren.

Mrs. Whittaker was a homemaker. She was a Baptist by faith and attended the Truth Assembly Chapel of Wadestown. She was also a member of the Golden Glow Rebekah Lodge #299 of Wadestown since 1985.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Albert T. Whittaker, who died on August 21, 1982; one brother, William Criss; four sisters, Mildred Criss, Blanche Checkevicz, Kathryn Moran, and Freda Fordyce; and a Great-Aunt, Laura Fluharty.

The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers

The Golden Glow Rebekah Lodge #299 of Wadestown will hold a service in the funeral home at 7:00 PM Tuesday.

Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Tuesday. Funeral services will be held in the Truth Assembly Chapel near Wadestown at 11:00 AM Wednesday with the Pastor Jerry Teter and Rev. Rose Saunders officiating. Interment will follow in the Wadestown Cemetery.
