Ethel M. Lay, 92, of Carlisle died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at Chapel Pointe at Carlisle.

Born June 5, 1918, in Cumberland County, she was a daughter of the late Ervin E. and Ida Mayberry Hair and the widow of Kenneth L. Lay.

She was retired from Carlisle Shoe and enjoyed fishing in Canada with her husband.

Surviving are her sister, Betty Whistler, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, James, Earl, Dale and Lewis Hair; and two sisters, Pearl Raudabaugh and Irma Jumper.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle, with the Rev. David S. Herr officiating. Burial will be in Letort Cemetery, Carlisle. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
