— SELINSGROVE — Francis R. "Rudy" Gelnett, 95, of Selinsgrove, passed away at 1:10 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, at Grayson View.

He was born Sept. 12, 1915, at McKees Half Falls, a son of the late Francis R. and Ella R. (Rine) Gelnett.

He was a 1933 graduate of Selinsgrove High School and a 1937 graduate of Susquhanna University. He served in the Navy for seven years during World War II and the Korean War.

Rudy taught school from 1937 to 1942 in Union City and from 1947 to 1959 in Shillington.

He was a member of Sharon Lutheran Church, Selinsgrove, and American Legion Post 25, Selinsgrove.

Rudy was well known for his musical talent and playing the piano throughout the area. In 1946, he started the musical group, Rudy Gelnett and his Orchestra.

He was the last of his family and was preceded in death by two brothers.

At Rudy's request, there will be no funeral services.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Selinsgrove.

Arrangements are by the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, Selinsgrove.
