Mr. Maddox, a shipping clerk for Dixie Stockyards, was stricken there Friday around 5:30 p.m. and was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Joseph Hospital at 6 o'clock. A member of Central Presbyterian Church and an associate member of the Fraternal Order of Police, he is survived by his widow, Mrs. Marie Irby Maddox; one daughter, Mrs. Faye O'Dell of New Market, England; mother, Mrs. Nettie Bryant Maddox of Meridian; one niece and two nephews.

Burial will follow in the Magnolia cemetery.
