Beverly Coffman, age 78, of Kansas City, KS, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 10, 2005, at her home. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 13 at Simmons Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, April 14, at the Full Faith Church of Love, Shawnee, KS. Family suggest memorial contributions to the Parkinson Foundation of the Heartland, 7800 Foster, Overland Park, KS. Mrs. Coffman was born October 7, 1926, in Kansas City, KS and was a life time resident of the area. She had a life time love for both the Lord and music. She was a retired piano teacher and remained a very active member of the Full Faith Church of Love. Surviving are her husband, Eugene Finis Coffman, of the home; daughter, Cathy Brumley and her husband, Gary, Shawnee, KS; son, Mark Coffman and his wife, Terry, Kansas City, KS; and two grandsons, Elias Coffman and Zachary Coffman. MO); Luther and Viola were both 26 years old at the time of their marriage. Also living in the rental home located at 1523 S 29th Street, Kansas City, KS was Roy A. Prather, (aged 3/12, b. KS), the son of Luther and Viola; Benjamin Harshbarger (aged 79, b. VA), the father-in-law; Annie Harshbarger (aged 74, b. VA), the mother-in-law; and William Harshbarger (aged 40, b. VA), the single brother-in-law of Luther. William and Annie were 26 and 21 years old, respectively, at the time of their marriage.

Per the 1940 US Census, Beverly J. Prather (aged 13, b. KS) was living with her parents at their rental home located at 3809 Ruby Street, Kansas City, KS; there were there in 1935 as well. Also in the household were Luther C. Prather (aged 42, b. KY, head of the household) and his wife Mattie V. Prather (aged 44, b. MO) and Roy A. Prather (aged 10, b. KS), a son.
