Mattie Ann Bowman Puryear, age 60, of Chesterfield and formerly of Chase City, died Tuesday, August 8, 2000. She was retired from Southland Corporation in Richmond and was the daughter of the late Jeff and Myrtle Bowman and was preceded in death by a sister, Mozelle Bohannon. She is survived by her sons, Ronald Lee Puryear, Orlando, Fla., Gary Wayne Puryear and Brian Keith Puryear of Richmond; sisters, Lucille Lankford, Ashland, Jeanette Atkins, Halifax; 11 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Linwood Wilkinson and Rev. David Blakely officiating. (Her former husband was George Thompson Puryear, Jr.)
