Joel Keith Myers Sr., 48, of Green Cove Springs, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Broadus-Raines Chapel in Green Cove Springs, Fla., with the Rev. Reverend Bobby Register officiating. Burial will follow at Black Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Keith was born Oct. 23, 1962 to parents, Damon and Linda Myers in Tifton and had been a resident of Clay County since 1982. Keith was of the Baptist faith and attended Black Creek Baptist Church. He was a 1980 graduate of Tift County High School and a graduate of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College with honors in pre-med. Keith was an avid fisherman, hunter and enjoyed scuba diving and being on the water outdoors. He enjoyed his job at First Coast Business Solutions before having to leave due to his illness. Keith loved to watch TV game and history shows.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Myers. Keith will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends.
Survivors include his parents, Damon and Linda Myers; one son, Joel Myers Jr.; one daughter, Kelli Myers; and one brother, Richard Mark Myers.
