Paternal granddaughter of Prince Robert d'Orléans, Duc de Chartres, and Princess Françoise of Orléans.
Maternal granddaughter of the Prince Royal Philippe d'Orléans, Comte de Paris, and Infanta Maria Isabel of Spain.
She was a sister of Prince Henri, Comte de Paris.
In February 1929, Françoise married HRH Prince Christopher of Greece and Denmark. They were married in Palermo, Italy, and it was a rare marriage between the Roman Catholic and Greek Orthodox religions.
Following her marriage, she was known as HRH Princess Christopher of Greece and Denmark.
She had one son, Prince Michael in 1939, and never remarried after Christopher's death in 1940. She died in Paris and was buried next to her husband in Greece.
