Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the home for Henry Tibbets Chastain, conducted by J. T. Newport, by request, who gave a short talk on the obituary of the deceased.

Mr. Chastain was born at Osage Mills, southwest of Bentonville, Arkansas, February 29, 1860, and died March 3, 1933, being 73 years and 3 days of age.

He received his carly education in the public schools of his community and attended high school at Fayetteville, Arkansas.

When 18 years of age he came to Indian territory with his parents, who settled near Grove. Some years later he went to Wyoming where he spent about seven years. Returning to this country he was united in marriage to Miss Lena Dial and established a home six miles south of Fairland, where they resided for three years and then moved to Fairland, where he has resided until his death.

For a number of years he was associateri with his brother, John Chastain in the livestock industry. After the death of his brother, 15 years ago, he carried on for a few years until his health began to fail, and for the past few years had retired from active business. His splendid judgment of livestock and his reputation for fair dealing was known over this entire community.

Fellow members of lodges of Afton, Wyandotte, Miami and Fairland assisted in bestowing the ceremonies due a deceased member and interment was made in the Fairland cemetery under the direction of the undertaker, J. S. Campbell.
