William Farmer Bridges enlisted in the Confederate States Army as a Private in Company K, 24th Regiment, Alabama Infantry on the 13th day of August 1861 at Shelby Springs in the state of Alabama. He was honorably discharged from the army at Greensboro, N. C. on the 13th day of April 1865.
He applied for a pension on July 7, 1913 at the age of 70 yrs. Cardiac trouble prevented him from making a living. Pension was granted August 18, 1913, Pension Roll #18365.
