- MRS. HELEN TAYLOR THOMPSON, 89, of St. Francis Lane, Lochaven, Church and civic leader, died in her home Thursday. A lifelong resident of Norfolk, she was the widow of THOMAS P. THOMPSON, former City Manager of Norfolk, and a daughter of JOHN C. and MRS. HARRIETT BAYLOR TAYLOR. She was a founding member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd; a founding member of Garden Club of Norfolk; and an active Audubon Society member. She is survived by three nieces, DR. HELEN W. TAYLOR and MRS. WILLIAM B. HOLLOWELL, JR. of Norfolk and MRS. JOSEPH CROSS of Virginia Beach; two nephews, DR. HARRY B. TAYLOR, JR. of Norfolk, and JOHN C. TAYLOR of West Hartford, Conn.; and 12 other nieces and nephews. The body will be taken from H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, to the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd for a funeral service today at 11 a.m. by the Rev. SYDNEY C. SWANN, JR. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to Jackson Field Home for Girls in Jarrett, VA. (Virginian-Pilot, Saturday, Feb. 24, 1973).
