Clarence Fay Banister, Sr. was the oldest son of John Wallace Banister and Nona May Zent. Clarence married Mary Irene Ferren on 19 Jul 1924 in Cottonwood Falls, Kansas. They had two children: Clarence Fay, Jr. and Robert. Clarence owned and operated an appliance repair shop at 16 South Commercial St., Emporia, for many years. He left Empoira in the early 1960s, and lived in Osage City for 15 years. He had lived in Topeka since September 1976. He was a past president of Over 60 Club at Osage City.
