Alfred S. Bailey died yesterday morning about 10 o'clock at the family residence, 605 West Decatur street, aged 62 years. His death was the result of consumption, with which he had suffered for the past few months. He was born in Alexandria, Va. Oct. 22, 1833, but has been a resident of this city for many years past. In his early days he followed the business of baker but in recent years, he has kept a candy stand on the streets, and by reason of this business he became quite well known throughout the city. He is survived by his wife and seven children: Mrs. Ula Friend, Della, Nellie, Annie, Pearl, James and William Bailey.
The funeral will be held at the resident at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon and the services will be conducted by Rev. J.T. Finley and D.F. Howe.
