Margaret was a quite gentle soul who loved to cook, garden, sew, and was an accomplished milliner. She worked for her aunt who owned and operated a hotel in Elvins, MO., as a cook, and sold her hats.
It was there that William "Bill" meet Margaret, and married shortly after. She married William Smith on December 30, 1901 in Yount, Missouri. To this union were born seven children. Sadly one daughter, and two sons were stillborn. Their surviving four children were all daughters.
She will forever be remembered for her BIG hats, homemade candies, and [epic] fried-chicken, and Sunday dinners.
