Joseph ''Bud'' Crossin, 66, of Virginia Terrace, Forty Fort, died Monday at Lankaneau Hospital, Philadelphia. Born Jan. 16, 1931 in Swoyersville, he was the son of the late Francis and Margaret Boyle Crossin.
He graduated from Wyoming Seminary in 1948, Villanova University in 1952, and served with the U.S. Air Force.
He was president of Bonner Chevrolet Co., Inc., Kingston.
He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus/St. Mary's Church, Shoemaker Street, Swoyersville, and its Holy Name Society; the Pennsylvania Automobile Association; the Wyoming Valley Automobile Dealers Association; the National Automotive Dealers Association; the Fox Hill Country Club, Exeter, where he won numerous club championships in golf; Luzerne American Legion Post 525.
He was the State of Pennsylvania Chevrolet Dealer Representative from 1965 to 1970.
He was instrumental in the founding of the Holy Name of Jesus Grade School Basketball Team and was the coach for 10 years.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Francis P. Crossin, in 1982.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, the former Ann Bonner; daughters, Molli Conti, Doylestown; Trisha Chawaga, Devon; sons, Richard, Kingston; Joseph Jr., Larksville; Thomas, Trucksville; Paul, Forty Fort; a sister, Mollie Gill, Forty Fort; a brother, Jack, Kingston; 11 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday from the Hugh P. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 333 Wyoming Ave., Kingston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Name of Jesus/St. Mary's Church.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
