LOWE Benjamin Matthew Lowe, 52, died of a heart attack in his home in Atlanta, GA on May 12, 2009 Mr. Lowe is survived by his beloved wife of 10 years, Teresa Lowe, his daughter Melissa Lowe, his sister Sally Mangham, and his stepdaughters and their families: Heather an Bruce Bell and their children Heath and Olivia and Elissa Eberhardt and her daughter Madison Gregory and his constant pal Daisy the Shitzu (friend of the Dali Lama and partial to steak tartar). Ben was a Cadet at Bordentown Military Institute (BMI) in New Jersey and graduated from Saint Johns Country Day School in Jacksonville, FL at 16. He went on to Washington & Lee University where he graduated with honors and took a commission in the Army. He left the Army in 1981 as a Captain and went on to attain the rank of Major in the Army Reserves. Commissioned by President Reagan, Ben served his country around the world in the Foreign Service for many years, he spoke fluent German, Spanish and Afrikaans. Pursuing a lifelong dream he went on to Florida Coastal School of Law in 2000, where he edited the Law Review and graduated Suma Cum Laude in 2004. As an Immigration Attorney Ben worked in Chicago and Atlanta where he also opened his own firm, Lowe Immigration Law in 2009 and was a member of the Association of Christian Lawyers. Ben was an avid coin collector, model train and AMC car enthusiast. He was a fine Baritone and sang with several choruses including The Big Orange in Jacksonville, FL. A man of letters and devoted to "studying to show himself approved", Ben was a loving and supportive husband to his wife, a doting and beloved "Poppy" to his grandchildren, a fine friend, an excellent and conscientious Attorney and a man of God. He will be truly missed. A Memorial Service will be held at Argyle Church of Christ 7310 Collins Road, Jacksonville, FL 32244 on Saturday May 23rd at 2pm.
