Mrs. Margaret Fries, 86, resident of Moline for sixty-seven years, died last night in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clara Anderson, Princeton, Ill., with whom she has made her home the last seven years. Mrs. Fries had been failing in health for the last year and a half but has been bedfast for the last ten weeks.
Mrs. Fries was born in West Morland(sic) county, Pennsylvania, on May 6, 1838(sic). She came to Moline with her parents seventy-four years ago, where she has lived all her life until seven years ago. Her maiden name was Margaret M. Bauthman(sic). On July 3, 1856, she married Adam Fries, who preceded her in death thirteen years ago. Two daughters also preceded her in death. Mrs. Fries was a member of the Women's Relief corps and of Wesley Methodist church of Moline.
Surviving are one son, Frank Fries, Moline; two daughters, Mrs. Clara Anderson, Princeton, Ill., and Mrs. Daisy Bentley, Geneseo; one sister, Mrs. William Golden, Orion, Ill.; two brothers, Samuel and John Bauthman(sic), both of Chanute, Kas., twenty-one grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon in Wesley Methodist church, Moline. The Rev. O. B. Enselman will officiate. Interment will be in Rock Riverview cemetery. Pallbearers for the deceased will be grandsons, Marion Fries, Howard Anderson, Roy, Lloyd, Russell and Milford Bentley, Stanley Ege and Herbert Kuehl.
