OBITUARY :
ROBERT LEE ALESHIRE, SR., 68, of 11819 Peacock Trail, Hagerstown, died Monday, Oct. 12, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.

Born March 28, 1930, in Luray, Va., he was the son of the late Harry Lee and Josephine Rickard Aleshire.

He was employed by Potomac Edison/Allegheny Power for 44 years, retiring in 1995.

He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Chewsville.

He was a member of BPOE Lodge 378; North American Rod and Gun Club; AARP; Forerunners Club; and a charter member and past president of Antietam Investment Club.

He was a Scout leader in Luray, Va., and Hagerstown.

He was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Updike Aleshire; a son, Robert Lee Aleshire Jr. of Thurmont, Md.; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Cook of Berryville, Va.; a grandson; nieces and nephews.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. John W. Schildt will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Red Cross Blood Services, 113 S. Prospect St., Hagerstown, Md. 21740; or Bethel United Methodist Church, Box 37, Chewsville, Md. 21721.
