Manufacturer Succumbs In Home At Ada

ADA, Jan. 6 - Perry William Turner, 79, founder and owner of the Turnerized Roofing Co., which operated in almost every state of the union and in many foreign countries, died at his residence, 508 N. Main-st Friday after a serious illness of four months.

Turner was a pioneer in the roofing business and perfected the present system of inter-locking plate type roof after 40 years of hard work and study. About a year ago, Turner moved his Chicago plant consisting of 30 tons of machinery and a corrugating mill weighing 20,000 pounds, to Ada in order to have his business near his home.

He was born at West Newton and was a member of the Presbyterian church and the Ada Kiwanis club.

Turner was active until September.

Surviving are his wife, formerly Mary Houser, of Cadiz and a brother, George Turner, of Marion.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Presbyterian church with Rev. W. A. Condon, pastor, officiating, assisted by Dr. Robert Williams, of Ohio Northern University. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery, Ada.

The body will be removed to the residence Sunday morning where it is to remain until 1 p.m. Tuesday when it will be removed to the church to lie in state until time of services.
