WEST RITES TO BE HELD FRIDAY
Last rites for William G [C] west, a resident of the Wilsall community for 33 years, will be conducted at 2 p.m. fro the Franzen chapel in Livingston.
Military honors will be accorded b Park post No. 23, American Legion, at the graveside in Mountain View Cemetery. Burial will be in Legion plot.
West, 74, died Monday at the fort Harrison veterans hospital near Helena after an illness of some time. he had been a patient in the hospital since Nov. 20.
The body will be forwarded to the Franzen mortuary here Thursday morning.
West was born April 5, 1878 in Bozeman and received his education in the school there. he enlisted in the army march 30, 1917, and served with the American Expeditionary forces in France until the spring of 1919. West was honorably discharged from the service July 15, 1919. After his release from the armed forces, West moved to the Wilsall community and had been engaged in ranching operations in Park county since that time.
He married Rose Devine in 1920 in Livingston.
West had been a member of the Park post of the American legion for several years.
Surviving are his widow’ two daughters, Mrs. Fay Henwood of Wilsall and Mrs. Dorothy Peterson of Livingston; two sons, Robert West of Wilsall and Raymond West, who is serving in the army at Fort Hancock, N. J.; two step-children, William Arthur West of Clyde Park and Mrs. Mae Walden of Wilsall, and seven grandchildren. Raymond West will arrive in Livingston Thursday from Fort Hancock to attend the funeral services.
