James Blake Allen, 91, of Mason, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, at his home.

He was born Sept. 15, 1919 in Orma, Calhoun County, a son of the late William A. and Emma Bailey Allen. He was a disabled Army veteran of World War II.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six sisters, Ressie King, Ethel Waldeck, Chloe Cover, Ann McKenzie, Juanita Daggett, and Nell Holt; one brother, Rex Allen; half-brother, Lloyd Allen; and grandson, Isaac Allen.

He is survived by his wife, Lola Bryant Allen, whom he married May 27, 1950; two sons, Shirl Leek of Massillon, Ohio, and Donald R. Allen of Columbus, Ohio; one granddaughter, Beth Allen of Seattle, Wa.; and a half brother, Roger Allen of Grantsville.

A funeral service was held Sunday, Nov. 7 at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home in Spencer with Bill Walton officiating. Burial followed in the Orma Cemetery in Orma.
