at 7:30 p. m. Monday where
a fire in the basement of a home
owned by James Godbey resulted
in an estimated $25 damage.
Firemen said Godbey was out
of state at the time of the fire.

The Fire Department Rescue
Squad was called to 327 Milliron
Ave. at 6:20 a.m. today where
Mrs. Cora Campbell, 87, was
reported ill.

The woman remained home.

MRS. CORA CAMPBELL

Mrs. Cora Kesler Campbell, 87, of 329 Milliron Ave., died in a local hospital Tuesday morning following a short illness.

Born Feb. 7, 1882, at Clifty, she was a daughter of the late James B. and Louisa Loomis Kesler.

Living in Beckley for the past 47 years, she was a member of the Kesler Memorial Presbyterian Church in Clifty. Her husband, Lacy L. Campbell, preceded her in death in 1949.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Glenn (Birdie) Webb of Daniels, Mrs. Beatrice Young of Hollywood, Fla., Mrs. Beulah Peters of Atlanta, Ga., and Miss Bethel Campbell; two sons, Bernard of Coral Gables, Fla., Bayless, Beckley; eight grandchildren, 11 greatgrandchildren; three brothers,
Harry B. Kesler of Oak Hill, Frank L. Kesler of Fayetteville, Kent K. Kesler of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and and one sister, Mrs. Nell Clapp, Plum Tree N. C.

The body is at Melton Mortuary where friends may call after 6 p.m. Thursday. Private funeral services for the family will be held in the Melton Mortuary Chapel at 1:30 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Jim Franklin officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Tabor Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Edward P. Stansbury, Robell B. Clark, Ted Stover, Walter Crook, Nathan Bennett, Themon Rorrer Clarence Kessler and Mark H. Ford.
