Harry Ward Tripp, 91, long-time Flatwillow area rancher, died early Wednesday morning at the Central Montana Hospital after a brief illness.

Born May 12, 1891 at Ruthven, Iowa, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Tripp. He received his schooling and spent his early life there.

In 1912, Tripp came to Montana and homesteaded in the Flatwillow area where he ranched until his retirement in 1965.

On May 20, 1914, he married Hallie Marie King at the Flatwillow Hall. She preceded him in death in 1977.

In 1970, Tripp moved to the Eagles Manor in Lewistown, where he lived until 1980 when he moved back to Winnett, where he had made his home until the time of his death.

He was very active in the community affairs of the Flatwillow area and served on the school board, the Flatwillow Community Hall Board and was chairman of the "Triple A Organization," which is now known as the ASCS offices, for many years. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Winnett.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers, one sister and two grandchildren
