Hallie Marie Tripp
Hallie Marie Tripp, 87, long-time Central Montana resident, died Monday morning at Central Montana Hospital after a short illness.
She was born July 1, 1890 at Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam King. She was educated in Brainard, Minn., and lived there until she moved to Montana in 1912.
Mrs. Tripp homesteaded in the Flatwillow area and taught school there until 1933. She then taught music in Winnett until 1947. She continued to make her home at Flatwillow until 1972, when she moved to Lewistown. She spent her summers in Flatwillow until this year.
She married Harry Tripp May 20, 1914, in Flatwillow.
Mrs. Tripp liked to paint, and she was known in the Central Montana area as an accomplished artist.
She was a member of the Winnett Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Harry of Lewistown; two sons, Ralph of Melville, N.Y., and Richard of Winnett; three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Laugeman and Angelu Pugrud, both of Winnett, and JoAnn Correa of Raymondville, Texas; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Flatwillow Hall. The Rev. David Iverson of the First Baptist Church of Winnett will officiate. Burial will follow in the Tripp Family Cemetery at Flatwillow.
The Cloyd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Friends wishing to do so may make memorials to the Montana Institute of the Bible or the Winnett swimming pool.
