Beloved son of Joseph Leonard and Mary(Packard dau of Nathaniel and Lydia Kingman) Leonard.

Born in Bridgewater Mass.

First married Keturaha Brigg(s) IN 1756 . EAST BRIDGEWATER MASS. MARRIAGES pge. 175.
Keturah then died AUG 17, 1757,from complications on the birth of their first child.

Benjamin Leonard had to;take out a license to bury her.
"PLYMOUTH S.LICENSE IS HEREBY GRANTED TO BENJAMIN LEONARD(AND ALL CONCERNED) TO BURY HIS DEC. WIFE TO MORROW (ALTHO' THE LORD'S DAY)LEAST THE CORPS OF DEC. PROVE TO OFFENSIVE, BY REASON OF THE HOT SEASON. Aug. 20 1757. GRANTED BY JOSIAH EDSON JUSTICE OF THE PEACE"


To this marriage they had one child Katuraha Leonard who was born on August 08,1757, she married William Bishop son of Edward Bishop of Providence county Rhode Island and Mother Unknown nee Bishop on January 13, 1778 in Gloucester, Providence county Rhode Island.(gs film #2188721 ref id #p112).ALSO LISTED UNDER KETURAHA LEONARDS' MARRIAGE BANNS are her parents,grandparents,great-granparents,and great-great grandparents to Solomon LEONARD.BRIDGEWATER MASS.MARRIAGES PG. 243.

He then married Mary Reneffe/Renough on Feb,2, 1760.There are two differnt enteries of this marriage second date is Sept. 08, 1759.

Benajamin then moved to Ashford Ct. November 1767 where he purchased 100 acres of land belonging to Joseph Leonard.(his grandfather); in a deed dated May 16 1767. Witnessed by Zephanniah Leonard and Abaigail Leonard.

His beloved wife Mary died Dec, 16, 1807 and is buried with him.


Benjamin and Keturah had one daughter;
Keturaha b.Aug 8,1757 d.May 30 1836.

They had 11 children!!

NAMING THIS THIRD WIFE POLLY AKA MOLLY NEE BOSWORTH LEONARD AS CO-ADMINISTRATOR WITH AN UNREADABLE BOSWORTH.
IN SAID WILL DATED DEC 07,1813 BENJAMIN LEONARD NAMES RECOMPENSE HIS SON, BENJAMIN HIS SON AND KETURAH NEE LEONARD BISHOP TO INHERIT LAND AND $$$$
THIS WILL WAS NOT FINALIZED UNTIL JULY 1816. THE HOUSEHOLD GOODS ALONE WAS ESTIMATED AT $ 2071.79 THAT WAS A SMALL FORTUNE AT THAT TIME. THEY HIRED TWO SURVEYORS TO MARK OFF THE LAND ON SAID FARM IN CONNECTICUT.
THE COST OF DIGGING OUR BENJAMIN LEONARDS GRAVE WAS 9 SHILLINGS.
IN 1814 POLLY LEONARD STILL HAD THE LAND WHILE THE ESTATE WAS BEING PROBATED AS SHE PAID $1.OO FOR TAX ON ALL THE LAND SHE LIVED ON
