MARION W. JACOBSON JR.
Marion Wilhelm Jacobson, Jr. was born in Savonburg, Kansas, August 9, 1922, the son of Marion W. Jacobson, Sr. and Carrie A. Dennison, He passed away in Cox South Medical Center, Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 76 years, on November 14, 1998. He had been in ill health for the past few years.
He was united in Marriage to Alice Jane Darter on May 28, 1943 in Ft. Knox, Kentucky, and to this union four children were born. For many years they lived in the Cabool, Missouri, area, in the Pea Ridge community, coming from the Iola, Kansas, area. They had also lived in the Yukon community, Mtn. Grove and Fordland, Missouri, before making their residence in Springfield several years ago.
He has retired as a maintenance employee with the Zenith Plant. He was a Army veteran of World WarII and was a member of Pea Ridge Baptist Church, having joined when living here. He liked fishing and hunting, especially with some of his many friends. He will be missed by his family and others who knew him well.
His wife, Alice, Preceded him in passing in 1994, and he has also been preceded by a son, George Marion; his parents; a sister, Lucille; and a brother, Howard.
Surviving are the three daughters, Kay Doss of Bosworth, Missouri, Judy Murphey of Iola, Kansas, and Barbara Wrinkle of Bolivar, Missouri; a sister, Olga Cole, Iola, Kansas; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchilddren; a very special friend, Goodwin of Springfield; and other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 16, 1998 in Cabool Cemetery with Keith Cunningham officiating. Burial was under direction of Elliott-Gentry Funeral Home, Cabool.
