Francisco Garza ‘Chito' Alvarado, 80, of 144 W. St. Francis St., died Monday at Mercy Hospital.
A native of Matamoros, he had been a Brownsville resident for 76 years. He was a retired tailor and had worked at a number of men stores here.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Woodmen of the World and St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He is survived by daughter, Mrs. Estafana Pompa, a sister, Mrs. Maria M. Mendez, two grandchildren, Sylvia and Gilbert Pompa, all of Brownsville, several nieces and nephews.
Rosary will be said today at 7 PM at Darling Mouser Chapel.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with interment at City Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Darling Mouser.
