Ellen Leona "Grandma" Flanary, 92, of Hampstead, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at Golden Living Center in Westminster.
Born Feb. 21, 1918, in Saltville, Va., she was the daughter of the late David Lorenzo Helton and Ida Victoria Keith Helton.
She was the wife of the late Cloys H. Flanary.
She was the last surviving member of her family. She had worked at CRI in Reisterstown and Maryland Cup. She was a member of Westminster Church of God and attended Gates of Praise. She enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens and canning. She also liked to bowl and quilt.
Surviving are children Mary Wilson and husband Paul, of Union Bridge, Donald Flanary and wife Elaine, of West Virginia, Jimmy Flanary and wife Janice, Gracie Hill and husband Ronnie, and Sandra DeJesus, all of Hampstead, and Eugene Flanary and wife Brenda, of Littlestown, Pa.,; 20 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sisters Veda Parson, Ruth Flanary and Edna Mutter; and brothers Ervin and Bill Helton.
Interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Gamber
