Henry Lee Gurganus, 81, of Cove City, died May 30, 2009 at Carolina East Medical Center.

He was a member of Cove City FWB Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. Lee is a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict.

Lee is survived by his wife, Louise P. Gurganus; one son, Dennis Lee Gurganus of New Bern; one step-daughter Cathy Currin and her husband Wayne of Oxford, NC; one grandson Daniel Currin and his faithful Chow-Chow companion Bear.
