William A. Westover, for nearly fifty years a resident in and near Montgomery County, died Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at his home on the Gardner ranch 2 1/2 miles southwest of Grant, where he had lived since 1904. His death resulted from heart trouble.
Mr. Westover was born June 3, 1872 in Austin, Minnesota and was 64 years old at his death. He was married to Myrtle May Copeland at Elliott on August 4, 1892 and to them were born nine children, six of whom are living. They are Mrs. Hazel Adams, and Fred Westover, Elliott; Mrs. Harry Weston, Jefferson, Oregon; and Mrs. Ted Weston, Mrs. George Courier, and William Westover, Grant.
Besides his widow and children, Mr. Westover leaves one brother, Ed Westover of Waukesha, Wisconsin and two sister, Mrs. Anna Disavow of rye gate, Montana and Mrs. W. A. Focht of Red Oak.
Mr. Westover came to Iowa at the age of 16 years, settling in Pottawattamie County, near Elliott in Montgomery County. He and his wife moved to Gardner ranch 33 years ago, residing there continuously until Mr. Westover’s death.
He was a member of the Christian Church of Elliott. His body was brought to the Wolfe Funeral Chapel to await arrangements for the funeral which had not been completed Thursday morning.
