Hurricane - Delbert Lee Johnson Sr., 61, of Hurricane, died July 19, 1989, at home after a long illness.
He was a retired Union Carbide project supervisor with 35 years' service. He was a lifelong resident of Hurricane and a Navy veteran of World War II.
Surviving: wife, Mrs. Betty Hazlewood Johnson; sons, Delbert L .Jr. of Hurricane, Bob of Scott Depot; brothers, Elton A. of Hurricane, Gale Ray of Elizabethtown, Ky., Dorsey G. of Hurricane; sisters, Mrs. Eloise Smith of Hurricane, Mrs. Benita Schirtzinger of Hurricane; four grandchildren.
Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Chapman Funeral Home, Teays Valley, with the Rev. Joseph Hodge and the Rev. Harley Cline officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Hurricane. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
