On October 16, 2010 Marguerite Noble Abbott, known to all as "Petie", of Warrenton, Va., passed away after a short illness on October 16, 2010.

Petie was born in Alexandria, Va., on March 3, 1923 as the youngest of six children to James and Alice Noble. Her siblings, Isabel, James "Buddy", Gordon, Anita, and Lindsey predeceased her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Russell Abbott.

Petie is survived by her daughter Rebecca Allison Abbott Dooley; her son-in-law Albert Michael Dooley; her two beloved grandsons Michael Kenneth Dooley and Stephen Joseph Dooley of Warrenton, Va. and numerous nieces and nephews including her special niece, Marguerite Anita Sayles of Washington, D.C.

Petie was a homemaker most of her life and was also fortunate to have worked at MM Pierce Elementary as a Library Aide during the 1980's. Her love of children and books made this position a perfect fit.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Culpeper Presbyterian Church. A private family interment will precede the memorial service at Fairview Cemetery, Culpeper, Va.

Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Library Fund, in honor of Marguerite Abbott, MM Pierce Elementary School, 12074 James Madison Street, Remington, VA 22734.
