Annie's early years in Ireland are still being researched. Her mother, Anne, brought Annie and her five sisters to the United States; Annie's youngest sister, Katherine, being born during the trip. The family arrived in August 1849 aboard the Marchioness of Bute.
Annie married Henry E Wafer, also of Ireland, and the couple had two children: Harry Edward & Sarah Anne. Harry Edward is the father of my grandmother.
Annie's obituary, which appeared in the San Francisco Call., reads:
"WAFER: At rest at her late residence, 2124 Bush street, Annie Agnes Wafer, widow of Henry Wafer, and mother of Sarah A. and Harry E. Wafer.
Friends and acquaintances are invited to attend the funeral services at St. Domenic's church tomorrow (Thursday), at 10 o'clock a.m."
