Retired Ada Doctor Dies

ADA, July 28 - Dr. James B. McWilliams, 84, retired physician and farmer, died at 8 p.m. Friday in his residence, two miles southwest of Ada. He had been seriously ill the last two months.

Born June 15, 1861, in Lafayette-co, Ga., Dr. McWilliams was graduated from the University of Louisville school of medicine in 1884 and came to Ohio in 1893. He practiced medicine in Lafayette and Ada prior to moving to his present residence in 1900, and was a member of the Ada Methodist church.

Surviving are four sons, Durbin McWilliams, Kenton; R. L. McWilliams, Xenia; Paul McWilliams, at home, and Lester McWilliams, Los Angeles; six daughters, Mrs. Lela Reed, Washington, D.C.; Miss Wava McWilliams, Dayton; Mrs. Mary Chandler, Cleveland; Miss Agnes McWilliams, at home; Mrs. Cecil Bowen, Upper Sandusky, and Mrs. Winifred Watson, Columbus; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Abel and Miss Eugenia McWilliams, both of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Mrs. Lulu Young, Lafayette, Ga.; three brothers, Lee and Shelley, Dalton, Ga., and Reefe, of Atlanta, Ga., and 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Frank L. Brown, of the Ada Methodist church, will conduct funeral services Monday at 2 p.m. (fast time) in the residence. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery. The body will be removed to the residence late Saturday afternoon from the Preston funeral home, Ada.
