Born Aug. 13, 1909, in Taylor Township, Fulton County, he was the son of the late Wilson Montgomery and Mary Clippinger.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ada Clippinger, in March 1942, and his second wife, Elsie Clippinger, in March 2002.
He attended the Winegardner School in Hustontown, Pa.
He was a lifelong farmer, and he retired from the Everett Hardwood Lumber Co. in Everett, Pa.
He attended the former Dublin Mills United Methodist Church in Hustontown.
He is survived by seven sons, James Clippinger and Robert Clippinger both of Hustontown, Carl Clippinger of Robertsdale, Pa., Roger Clippinger of Hagerstown, George Clippinger of Needmore, Pa., and Donald Clippinger and Fred Clippinger, both of Three Springs; seven daughters, Esther Scott of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Elaine Miller of Hagerstown, Freda Miller of McConnellsburg, Pa., Donna Ritter of Wichita Falls, Texas, Mary Swartz of Huntingdon, Pa., Glenda Machia of Lancaster, Pa., and Anita Clippinger of Ephrata, Pa.; three sisters, Nora Appleby, Myrtle Knepper and Laura Wogan, all of Chambersburg, Pa.; one brother, Lester Clippinger of McConnellsburg; 19 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter; one granddaughter, one great granddaughter; three brothers; and three sisters.
Services will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at M.R. Brown Funeral Home, Hustontown. Pastor Mel Brubaker will officiate. Burial will be in Center Cemetery Waterfall, Pa.
Friends may visit the funeral home from 3 to 8 p.m. today, and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
