William Rieckel lived on King Street in Hartford, CT with wife Amelia M (nee' Buckley), daughters Frances Augusta, Edith A, and Grace L, and sister-in-law Elizabeth Buckley. Grace's mother Amelia M was born in June 1869. Amelia and her parents were born in Ireland, and lived in Mullingar west of Dublin. (Note:1900 census shows Amelia's birth in Connecticut; this however conflicts with 1910 census and Betsy Harper's recollections. In 1969 Amelia's grabddaughters visited the convent school in Mullingar and saw Amelia's local birth record.) By 1900 William and Amelia had been married 12 years; the marriage was in 1888, probably in Bridgeport. The 1900 census also shows that daughter Frances Augusta was born in August 1889 in Connecticut; Edith A was born in February 1892 in Connecticut, and Grace was born in June 1895 in Connecticut, All these children would have been born in Bridgeport since William was smithing there only a year or two before.
