Albin G. Rountree, long time resident of Collingsworth County, Texas died at his home in Marysville, California, Monday, October 26. He had made his home there the past six years.

Albin G. Rountree was born in Collin County, Texas April 5, 1865 and at the time of his death, he was 77 years, 6 months and 25 days of age. He married Miss Maggie E. Brock on December 27, 1891 and moved to Collingsworth County in 1892, making the trip in a covered wagon. The couple settled near a place once called Arch Springs in what is now Roundup community. Mr. Rountree engaged in farming in this county until the last six years of his life. During the time he was considered a valued citizen and was active in community and civic affairs, having served as an early-day mail carrier.

Among his survivors are his wife and three daughters, Mrs. Zannie Lowry of Spokane, WA, Mrs. Grace Duncum of Oklahoma City, and Mrs. Lola White of Wellington; and his six sons who acted as pall bearers, Reuben Rountree of Amarillo, Tracy Rountree and Ernest Rountree of Marysville, CA, Jesse Rountree and Burgess Rountree of Littlefield and Joe Rountree of Lutie.
